In 1895, Daniel SWAROVSKI, a Bohemian inventor with a visionary spirit moved to the village of Wattens in austrian Tyrol, with his new invention designed for cutting and polishing jewelry crystals. From this humble beginning, SWAROVSKI has become the world's leading manufacturer of cut crystal for fashion, jewelry and more recently lighting, architecture and interiors.
Today the company, still family owned and managed by members of the 5th generation family, has a global reach with about 26,100 employees, a presence in over 120 countries and a turnover in 2011 of € 2220000000. SWAROVSKI brings together two main activities; production and sale of crystal elements with industry and other finished products based on design.
SWAROVSKI have become an essential ingredient in international design. Since 1965 the company has also turned to the jewelry sector with precision cutting made of authentic crystals and gems.
